  • Dr. David Porter’s career has spanned almost 30 years. His teaching, guidance, and subject matter expertise has helped shaped scientific research at government agencies (NASA), nonprofits (United States Pharmacopeia Convention), multinational pharmaceuticals (Sanofi), and medical device manufacturers (Hospira). Dr. Porter’s long career in education includes serving as the principal developer of the United States Pharmacopeia Fundamentals of Microbiology training program.

    Dr Porter has delivered new product ideas and marketed product safety in Bausch & Lomb’s R&D and QA biology and toxicology laboratories. He also helped Revlon discover new approaches to making advanced cosmetic products. As a Subject Matter Expert in microbiology and statistics for The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), David evaluated white papers and proposals for government-funded projects designed to develop effective medical countermeasures to treat radiation, radionuclide, or chemical agent exposure.

    Expertise

    David brings extensive expertise in personal product/medical device and cosmetic companies, the United States Pharmacopeia, consultancies, GxP-matters, regulatory inspection preparation, inspection findings, and SOP authoring. He has served as a Subject Matter Expert in microbiology and statistics and provided project management in large database development encompassing Information and Standards Development (ISD), Sales and Marketing, and Reference Standards information.

    Accelerated University

    Dr. David Porter will be involved in the FSPCA Preventive Controls for Human Food Course. The new FSMA regulation requires that every processing facility have at least one individual trained by the Food Safety Preventive Controls Alliance (FSPCA) overseeing the implementation of the facility‚Äôs food safety plan and other key tasks. This person is called a ‘Preventive Controls Qualified Individual’. This course will prepare individuals to receive FSPCA certification.
